In Dr. Saleh’s Innov8x class, my teammate and I were tasked to solve a problem submitted by Mines Alum, Mr. Stafford Maheu. Our approach to solving the problem caught his eye and with the help of Mines and Dr. Saleh, we formed Auen Analytics. Although the company has since dissolved, my connection with Mr. Maheu, led him to call me a year later to help him and the team continue work on our original solution.
I started contracting while completing my master’s degree and am now employed full-time as a Data Scientist and Product Manager at the company called Fox and Geese. Our efforts paid off when LegitScript acquired us.
I have continued to work closely with Mines. I am currently in my 5th semester as an adjunct professor for the Computer Science/Data Science department. I value the ability to return to the Innov8X courses and mentor the students. The class continues to provide extremely valuable real-world experience solving problems and finding innovative ways to get to the root of the issue and identify new solutions.
